Kirsty is from Manchester, England. – and is qualified with a MA in Linguistics – specifically TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of other languages) with a distinction for Nottingham University in the U.K. with specialisations of Young Learners and CLIL (Content Language and Integrated Learning).

She has also been published in the MATSDA journal which focuses on Materials Development for second language teaching and actively designs materials for her own classes, such as games, escape rooms, etc… and publishes them for other teachers to download and use.

She has a ‘CELTA’ from the University of Cambridge ESOL in the UK, which is considered to be one of the only 2 recognised TEFL certificates Worldwide. This qualifies her to teach English as a second language to adults, however she also has the additional TKT (YL) and TKT (CLIL) certificates, also from University of Cambridge ESOL, for teaching English as a second language to young learners (children) and CLIL methodology. All her certificates have extremely high grades.

Kirsty has worked as a Conversation Assistant in 2 Spanish state schools, CEIP Chigora, Chío and CEIP Teobaldo Power, Agua Dulce. The latter of which, she coordinated a 2 year European Comenius project for the school which had funding of 20,000€ and enabled the school to take 30 6th year students to England for 8 days.

Margarita is native Canarian (Alcalá), and is qualified to teach up to Bachillerato level in Humanities subjects, including Spanish Language. She is a native Spanish speaker with over 15 years of teaching experience. She currently works in the daytime at the private ‘German’ School, Colegio Costa Adeje and teaches Spanish for Isla Idiomas in the afternoons.

Birgit is the newest addition to our team, joining us in 2023-24 to teach German. She is native, as all our teachers are, and currently works remotely for the Universities in Germany, for whom she creates online learning environments. She has experience teaching adults and also teaching teachers methodology and skills for teaching children.

She has 2 sons and has recently moved to Tenerife for a more relaxed and healthier lifestyle for her family.
